Stoneleigh ‘Latitude’ Marlborough Rosé 2014

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Mar-2015
Light strawberry pink colour with a suggestion of orange on rim. The nose is light with delicate aromas of strawberries, cranberries and pomegranate, lifted by attractively subtle red floral nuances. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate shows a moderately concentrated core of savoury strawberry fruit with cranberry, pomegranate and watermelon flavours. The fruit is delicately sweet and balanced by crisp and refreshing acidity, and the palate follows a fine textural thread. This has vinosity and is good energy, the wine leading to a dry, strawberryish finish. This is a delicately fruited rosé with a crisp and refreshing, balanced mouthfeel, and a dry strawberry-fruited finish. Serve as an aperitif and with antipasto over the next 2 years. Pinot Noir clones 5 and 6 crushed for skin contact and cool-fermented in tank with a portion in French oak barriques to 13.5% alc. and 3.8 g/L RS. 17.0/20 Mar 2015 RRP $22.59
