Stonecrop Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 22-Apr-2015
Bright straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on rim. This has a fresh, aromatic and fragrant nose of tropical fruits, gooseberries, lantana and yellow capsicums along with yellow floral detail. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, smooth, lush and gently rich flavours of tropical fruits, gooseberries and exotic florals are the feature on the palate. The mouthfeel is smooth with fine, mouthwatering acidity and delicate drying textures underlining the fruit. This flows with good vitality and energy, and the palate carries the juicy and aromatic flavours to a soft, gently crisp finish with gooseberry and floral nuances. This is a juicy, aromatic Sauvignon Blanc with fine mouthfeel and energy. Serve as an aperitif and with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Stonecrop’ vineyard cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.3% alc. and 2.8 g/L RS, the wine spending nearly 5 months on lees. 1,300 cases made. 17.5/20 Apr 2015 RRP $23.00
