Stonecrop Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 07-Apr-2014
Bright pale straw colour with slight green hues. The nose is very fresh and bright with tightly bound aromas of gooseberry fruit along with white florals, limes, green apples and minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, zesty, pure and juicy flavours of gooseberries are enlivened by refreshing and racy acidity. The fruit is tightly bound with some concentration and follows a fine phenolic, textural thread and line that leads to a crisp, mouth-wateringly dry, elegant finish with mineral and chalky nuances. This is a youthfully fresh and tight, thirst-quenching Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry and minerally fruit. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the Stonecrop vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 3.19 g/L RS, the wine spending 5 months on lees. 17.5/20 Apr 2014 RRP $18.00
