Stonecroft ‘Serine’ Gimblett Gravels Hawke’s Bay Syrah 2012

Syrah from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 14-Nov-2013
Even, dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, a little lighter on edge. This has a full and softly voluminous, harmoniously expressed nose with deep aromas of black berry fruits, black and white pepper, with lifted and fragrant spices and violet florals. Medium-bodied, spicy black berry and black pepper fruit flavours lie on a soft-textured, supple and accessible palate. The mouthfeel is fresh, juicy and lush with good acid liveliness. Flavours of Asian spices and liquorice unfold and are carried by the acidity to a fine-textured, dry and elegant finish. This is a fresh and juicy, accessible Syrah with black fruits, pepper and spices carried by cidity. Serve with Asian duck and Middle Eastern lamb dishes over the next 4-5+ years. Hand-picked fruit fermented to 12.5% alc., the wine aged 18 months in 10% new French oak barrels. 18.0+/20 Nov 2013 RRP $35.00
