Stoneburn Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Sep-2018
Bright, very pale yellow colour, near colourless on the edge. The nose is softly full with pungent and savoury passionfruit and green stonefruit aromas along with herbs and a suggestion of earth, unfolding soft gooseberry notes and hints of green beans and musk. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a slender but concentrated core of pungent passionfruit melded with savoury gooseberry fruit. The core is rounded with some underlying phenolic grip and texture, with fresh, lacy acidity adding briskness. This is straightforward and flows to a taut, acidic finish. This is a slender Sauvignon Blanc with pungent passionfruit and savoury gooseberry flavours on a phenolic palate with brisk acidity. Serve with Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Wairau Valley fruit fermented in stainless-steel to 12.0% alc. and 2.5 g/L RS, the wine aged 10 weeks on lees. 16.0/20 Sep 2018 RRP $12.99
