Steve Bird Sauvignon Blanc 2021, Marlborough

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 29-Sep-2022
Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is full, packed with citrus, cassis, cut herbs, spice and citrus blossom aromas. Medium-bodied, aromas of lime, grapefruit and cassis melded with citrus peels, tomato vine, green herbs and a hint of blossom. The fruit is concentrated; taut, salivating acidity persists and drives with good energy. Herbaceous details and phenolics added substance. This vibrant, extensive Sauvignon Blanc possesses passionfruit, cassis and herb details with a taut, mouth-watering acid line. Match with battered fish and goat's cheese over the next 3 years. Machine harvested, free run juice fermented cool to 13.4% alc in stainless steel, post ferment maceration for 3 months approx. 17.5/20 pts (88 pts) Sep 2022 RRP $24
