Step x Step South Eastern Australia Shiraz 2012

Syrah from Australia - Other
Review Date : 09-Jul-2014
Fruit from Barossa Valley, Limestone Coast and Riverland, from 15 y.o. vines, 20% barrel-fermented to 13.5% alc. and matured in new and seasoned French oak. Very dark, deep, black-red colour, near impenetrable at heart, with garnet on rim. The nose is full with uncomplicated and fresh, primary fruit aromas of dark raspberry friut with hints of black pepper, jam and some minerally reduction. Medium-bodied, light and juicy fruit flavours of raspberry and blackberry jam show with hints of ripe boysenberry notes. The fruit sweetness is supported by light extraction and the mouthfeel is quite accessible. The flavours recede to become slender with crisp acidity marking the finish. This is an up-front, light, soft and juicy Shiraz with jammy flavours. Serve with antipasto, pizza and barbecued fare over the next 2-3 years. 15,000 dozen made. 16.0/20 Jul 2014 RRP $14.99
