Starborough Marlborough Pinot Gris 2010

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 03-Jun-2014
Pinot Gris may be the star variety for Starborough, the 2009 being very successful. This 2010 promises to be similar. This is 60% O'Dwyers Farm fruit from the Wairau blended with 40% Starborough Terrace fruit from the Awatere, fermented to 13.8% alc., with 10% barrel fermentation. Very light, pale straw yellow in colour, this is still delicately expressed on bouquet, with subtle, but broad pear-like aromas. Dryish to taste, with 6.0 g/L rs, this is fine and tightly bound on palate, but showing good intensity, cut and line. This has an underlying power to the elegance, which will be manifest over the next 1-2 years. 750 cases produced. 18.0+/20 Oct 2010 RRP $21.95
