Starborough ‘Family Estate’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 27-Sep-2015
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is fresh with concentrated and intense aromas of ripe passionfruit entwined with layers of fresh herbs, gooseberries, lime fruit, green capsicums and mineral detail. The intricacy and completeness of the aromatics is a feature. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, rich flavours of passionfruit, gooseberries, tropical fruits, herbs and limes fill the palate with layers of interest. Bright and lively acidity lends the palate piquancy and vitality, enhancing the fruit succulence. The wine has a concentrated core and follows a fine-textured line, the acid energy carrying the fruit to a long and sustained finish with passionfruit and herbal flavours. This is a rich and concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with layers of passionfruit and detailed fruit flavours, and a vibrant and refreshingly lively mouthfeel. Serve with seafood, poultry, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit 50% from ‘O’Dwyers Farm’ and 25% each from the ‘Long Lane’ and ‘Starborough Terrace’ vineyards, cool-fermented n stainless-steel to 13.0% alc., the wine aged on light lees. 19.0-/20 Sep 2015 RRP $20.00
