Starborough ‘Family Estate’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 03-Jun-2014
Bright, very pale straw, near colourless on rim. This has a gently full and very soft bouquet of fresh gooseberry fruit harmoniously interwoven with subtle passionfruit and tropical fruit aromas. Some fermentation esters provide a lift to the nose. Dry to taste, this is elegantly expressed with fine and pure gooseberry flavours at the core, with gentle passionfruit and lime notes emerging. The mouthfeel is smooth and seamless, the acidity quite restrained and harmoniously integral, and the flavours are carried to a moderately long, a delicately pungent finish. This is a soft, seamless and elegant Sauvignon Blanc with gentle gooseberry and subtle passionfruit notes. It should become richer over the next few months. Serve with seafood and salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Equal portions of ‘O’Dwyers Farm’ Wairau and ‘Long Lane’ Awatere fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 3.4 g/L rs. 17.5+/20 Jul 2013 RRP $21.95
