Stanley Estates ‘Single Vineyard’ Awatere Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Jan-2016
Bright, very pale straw colour with light green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is full and well-packed with aromas of cut grass and nettles melded with pungent passionfruit and ripe tropical fruit notes. Dark herb and mineral elements add to the interest. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, fresh fruit flavours of nettles. Cut grass, passionfruit and herbs are lifted by piquant floral notes and form an elegantly concentrated heart. The mouthfeel is lively and bright with lacy and slippery acidity. The wine flows smoothly with very fine textures leading to a tightly bound, crisp finish with grassy, nettle and capsicum flavours. This is a well-concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with classical Awatere flavours and a smooth-flowing, lively palate. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. 100% estate Sauvignon Blanc from the Awatere Valley, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.3% alc. and 2.1 g/L, the wine aged on lees. 18.0/20 Jan 2016 RRP $22.99
