Stanley Estates ‘Single Vineyard’ Awatere Valley Marlborough Pinot Noir 2011

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Sep-2012
Clones 667 and 777, indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 9 months in 20% new French oak barriques. Light ruby-red colour with pale purple hues on rim. The nose expresses fragrant, cooler-spectrum fruit aromas of bright strawberry, raspberry and cherry fruit, with whole berry confectionary notes, along with fresh herbs and some oak spicing. Medium-bodied, this is elegant in proportion, featuring bright strawberry, cherry and floral flavours with bon-bon elements. This has good depth, and the palate is underlined by racy acidity and a thread of supple tannin providing backbone, carrying through to a finely textured finish. This is an attractive, pretty Pinot Noir in the cooler spectrum with balanced acidity and extraction. Serve with charcuterie, salmon and tuna over the next 3-4+ years. 400 dozen made. 17.0+/20 Sep 2012 RRP $24.95
