Stanley Estates ‘Single Vineyard’ Awatere Valley Marlborough Albarino 2014

Other White from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Feb-2015
Hand-picked fruit, WBP and 40% indigenous yeast fermented in seasoned barriques to 13.0% alc. and 3.2 g/L RS, TA 7.0 g/L and pH 3.44, the wine aged 4 months on lees. Bright straw-yellow colour with lemony-green hues. The nose is tightly bound with detailed and precise aromas of fragrant white florals which reveal tropical fruit elements with subtle nuances of smoke, herbs, nuts and minerals. Dry to taste, the palate is finely concentrated and restrained, with delicate white floral and citrus fruit flavours. The mouthfeel is vibrant, fresh and steely, with elevated acidity and flows along a tight, soft and fine-textured line. The wine has energy and drive that carries the floral, herb and minerally flavours to a thirst-quenching, steely, racy finish. This is an elegant, tight and steely Albarino with white floral and citrus flavours. Serve with seafood and antipasto over the next 3+ years. 16.5+/20 Feb 2015 RRP $22.95
