Stanley Estates ‘Noble Harvest’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Feb-2015
Brilliant, golden-hued straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. This has a concentrated nose with restrained and tightly bound aromas of pineapple, green stonefruits and citrus fruits that grow in richness, revealing lime marmalade, honey, musky botrytis and fresh herb detail. Very sweet to taste and light-medium bodied, rich and lusciously decadent flavours of pineapple, tropical fruits, honied green stonefuits and marmalade fill the palate. The wine is unctuous and plush in mouthfeel, but balanced and cut by racy acidity. This has vibrancy and liveliness, and has energy and drive underlining the sweetness. The wine follows a fine textural thread carrying to an opulent finish with tropical fruit and marmalade flavours. This is a rich, unctuous and decadent botrytised Sauvignon Blanc with steely, racy balance. Match with fruit and caramel desserts, and blue cheese over the next 5-6 years. Fully botrytised Sauvignon Blanc fruit picked at 45.2° Brix, fermented in stainless-steel to approx. 10.7% alc. and 180 g/L RS, TA 10 g/L and pH 3.45, the wine aged on light lees. (375 ml) 18.5/20 Feb 2015 RRP $28.95
