Bright, light golden hued straw-yellow colour. This has a deep and densely concentrated bouquet of citrus fruits, toast, cream and oxidative nutty notes in a harmonious amalgam, the nose showing secondary development, with the fruit receding. Dry to taste, the palate is elegantly proportioned with fine, smooth textures and a harmonious mouthfeel. The flavours of citrus fruits, toast, honey and nuts are well-integrated, and underlined by a fine thread of phenolic textures and enlivened by savoury acidity. The wine flows gently to a long, lingering citrusy and nutty finish. This is a harmonious, soft-textured dry Riesling with savoury secondary development and some nutty, oxidative interest. Serve as an aperitif and with poultry dished over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from 6 rows, from vines planted in 2005, hand-picked, WBP and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.2% alc. and 3.3 g/L RS, TA 7.4 g/L and pH 3.1, the wine aged 6 months in seasoned oak. 17.0+/20 Jul 2014 RRP $25.00
