Staete Landt Marlborough Riesling Auslese 2012

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Jan-2014
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with light green hues. This has an elegant and fine nose with delicate lime, white floral and minerally aromas, along with honeysuckle nuances and subtle toast, nutty and chalky suggestions. Very sweet to taste and light-bodied, gently rich and soft, luscious flavours of citrus fruits, honey and musk fill the palate and provide a rounded mouthfeel. The flavours grow in richness increasing in exotic talc and floral notes. The acidity is gentle and soft, enhancing the plush textures. The flavours flow smoothly to a mellow, honied and musky flavoured, lingering finish with lifted florals. This is a beautifully soft-textured and gently sweet Riesling with rich citrus and honied flavours. Serve as an aperitif or with fruit deserts over the next 5+ years. Made from clone 110 fruit from vines planted in 2005, hand-picked, WBP and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 8.5% alc. and 112 g/L RS, with TA 7.5 g/L and pH 3.02, the wine aged 5 months in seasoned oak. 18.0+/20 Jan 2014 RRP $29.00
