Staete Landt ‘Annabel’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-May-2015
Bright, pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is fresh and tightly restrained with concentrated aromas of passionfruit entwined with chalky minerals and subtle, flinty detail. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, this has a softly rich and gently luscious palate with flavours of passionfruit and gooseberry fruit. Delicate layers of chalk and minerals unfold, adding detail and interest. The wine has a concentrated core with good energy and drive, flowing along a soft-textured line with fine acid poise enhancing the freshness and youth. This has a mouthwatering and moderately sustained finish. This is a fresh, gently rich Sauvignon Blanc with subtle chalk and minerally detail. Serve with herb-marinated white mat dishes over the next 2 years. Hand-picked estate fruit, WBP and fermented partially by indigenous yeasts, with approx. 30% in seasoned barriques to 13.2% alc. and 1 g/L RS, portions of the wine aged on lees, some in large oak. 18.0/20 May 2015 RRP $22.00
