Staete Landt ‘Annabel’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010 Cork

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Jun-2011
Six parcels of fruit all handled separately, a portion hand-picked, whole bunch pressed, approx.. 20% barrel-fermented in seasoned oak to 13.5% alc and <2 g/L rs, and a portion having lees contact. Sealed with natural cork. Brilliant pale straw-yellow colour, pale on edge, this has a soft and subtle nose of pungent passionfruit and gooseberry aromas that open out and fill the bouquet in gentle layers. Dry, elegant and softly concentrated, this has a rich, well-balanced palate of passionfruit and a little sweat, tropical fruits and gooseberries, interwoven with soft acidity and fine textures. Gently mouthfilling, there is good breadth to the expression. Drink over the next 3-5 years with salads and vegetables and Mediterranean cuisine. It is very instructive to compare this with the screwcap sealed wine. 18.0-/20 Jun 2011 RRP $ 23.00
