St Johns Road ‘Line & Length’ Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 01-Aug-2014
Very full, dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red with lighter purple edge. The nose is elegantly proportioned with firmly packed aromas of ripe blackcurrant fruit with soft nuances of chalky mint and leaf, and a matty minerally note. Medium-full bodied, this has a soft and supple mouthfeel with pure, but mellow flavours of blackcurrants entwined with mint, eucalypt and leafy elements. The palate follows a rounded core with moderate depth and easy tannin extract, and the wine is accessible and undemanding. The flavours lead to a softly concentrated finish with leafy flavours. This is a soft, smooth and accessible Cabernet Sauvignon with blackcurrant leaf and minty flavours. Serve with roasted lamb and semi-hard cheeses over the next 5 years. Fruit from the Bethany and Ebenezer districts, fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 15 months in 20% new French and American oak hogsheads and puncheons. 17.5/20 Jul 2014 RRP $27.50
