Squealing Pig Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Oct-2011
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with some lemon-green hues, pale on edge. This has a full, densely concentrated nose of savoury, pungent passionfruit and minerally aromas, packed and with substance. Dry to taste, rich, powerful, pungent passionfruity fruit flavours fill the mouth with excellent weight and concentration. The palate is round, but fresh and lively with bright acidity, and a sense of integration and harmony accompanies the richness which carries through to a sustained finish. Subtle savoury nuances provide interest. Fruit from the Awatere Valley cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc. and 7.5 g/L rs. Match with flavoursome seafood and poultry dishes over the next 2+ years. 18.5-/20 Oct 2011 RRP $24.99 Brilliant straw-yellow colour with a light edge. This has a very intense, but fine-featured nose of pungent passionfruit aromas with some savoury notes. An up-front wine that will match seafood, vegetables and salads especially with a Mediterranean focus over the next 2 years. Gold medal 2011 N.Z.I.W.S. 18.0-/20 Sep 2011 RRP $24.99
