Spy Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Jan-2015
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour, pale edged. The nose is full and voluminous with pungent thiol passionfruity aromas with piquant dark herbs, lifted, ethereal white stonefruit notes and mineral detail. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, mouthfilling flavours of bright and lively passionfruit are the feature on palate. The wine has a fine–textured grip and structure and soft acidity enhancing the concentration and weight. Layers of fresh herbs and juicy limes unfold adding to the flavour interest. The mouthfeel is balanced and flows to a dry, softly textured, sustained finish. This is a full, juicy, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with a balanced, dry-textured mouthfeel and finish. Match with salads and vegetables, and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from ‘Johnson Estate’ and contract growers, fermented with a portion by indigenous yeasts in barrel to 13.5% alc. and 0.7 g/L RS. 18.0-/20 Jan 2015 RRP $22.00
