Spy Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 02-Sep-2013
Brilliant, deep, straw-yellow colour with pale green hues on rim. The nose is fresh and gently voluminous with ripe passionfruit aromas along with limes, white florals and mouthwatering minerally elemernts at the core. Dry to taste, elegantly presented, luscious flavours of passionfruit are enlivened by bright, juicy acidity. There are lime, tropical fruit and gooseberry notes intermingling with mineral and chalky elements forming a very fine-textured line. The mouthfeel is soft with poise between raciness and dryness. Thirst-quenching acidity underlines the palate flow and carries the restrained, pungent fruit to a very long, dry, delicately grainy finish. This is an elegant and fine-featured Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit flavours and mouthwatering mineral notes. Serve with seafood, poultry, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit from estate and contract growers, fermented with a portion in barrels to 13.0% alc. and 2.1 g/L RS. 18.0/20 Sep 2013 RRP $22.00
