Spy Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Sep-2011
Very bright, pale straw-yellow with some youthful green hues, this has a full, voluminous, softly presented nose with aromas of ripe gooseberries and nectarines along with notes of tropical fruits that unfold in the glass. Dry to taste, this is a rich, lush and fulsome wine with succulent and up-front passionfruit and gooseberry flavours. The palate is mouthfilling with soft textures, but has lively acidity for vibrancy. The wine retains a stylish proportion and plenty of tension to enable matching with Mediterranean fare over the next 2+ years. Fruit from ‘Johnson Estate' and contract growers fermented to 13.5% alc. and 3.0 g/L rs. 18.0+/20 Sep 2011 RRP $19.95
