Spy Valley Marlborough Pinot Noir Rosé 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 17-Aug-2016
Very pale, candy floss pink with slight purple hues. This has a softly bound nose, still youthful and tight, with subtle aromas of strawberry fruit along with nuances of fresh herbs and some mouthwatering, minerally reduction. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses subtly rich and delicately flavoured strawberry fruit along with minerally notes. The fruit is underpinned by light, dry phenolic textures at the core. The wine has good energy with lacy acidity and linearity that carries the wine to a thirst-quenching, dry, light-textured, minerally finish. This is a light strawberry fruited rosé with subtle richness, mouthwatering, dry mineral notes and some phenolic textures. Serve as an aperitif and with Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. 100% Pinot Noir from the ‘Johnson’ vineyard, hand-picked and 90% WBP, the remainder drained off skins immediately after harvest. The wine was fermented in oak and stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 2.7 g/L RS. 16.5/20 Aug 2016 RRP $23.00
