Spy Valley Marlborough Pinot Noir Rosé 2014

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Jan-2015
Pale strawberry pink colour, lighter on rim. The nose is delicate and soft with gentle red floral and strawberry fruit aromas, entwined with watermelon and cranberry elements and mouthwatering mineral nuances. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, light flavours of strawberries and watermelon are lifted by floral and fruit pastille notes. The palate is open, juicy and accessible, with good vinosity and mouthfeel. A fine textural thread and refreshing acidity provides a lively line that grows in depth and substance, carrying through to a flavoursome finish. This is a bright and juicy dryish rosé with light strawberry and confectionary flavours that build in depth. Serve with tapas and antipasto over the next 18 months to 2 years. 100% Pinot Noir fruit from the ‘Johnson Estate’ Waihopi vineyard, hand-picked with a portion pressed, with fermentation in barrel and stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.8 g/L RS. 17.5-/20 Jan 2015 RRP $25.00
