Spy Valley Marlborough Chardonnay 2010

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Sep-2011
Bright straw-yellow colour with lemon hues and a pale edge. This has a very fresh, intense and concentrated nose of mealy citrus fruits, nectarines along with toasty oak, still tightly bound and youthfully sleek. Medium-full bodied, this has concentrated flavours of citrus fruit, mealy-nutty fruit and oak amalgam all underscored by crisp and racy acidity. The textures are very fine, the barrel-ferment creaminess balanced by the steel and edginess from the acid. A long finish with citrus and toasty notes completes the palate. 6 clones of Chardonnay from ‘Johnson Estate' and the ‘Outpost' vineyard fully barrel-fermented, partly with indigenous yeasts to 13.5% alc. and aged on lees for 12 months with partial MLF. Serve with grilled seafood and roasted poultry and pork dishes over the next 4-5 years. 17.5+/20 Sep 2011 RRP $22.95
