Spy Valley ‘Envoy’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Aug-2013
Dark ruby-red colour with slight purple hues. The nose is concentrated and compact with good fragrance, showing aromas of dark red berry and plummy fruits along with prominent, spicy oak. Medium-bodied, this is elegant and tightly bound with ripe red berry fruit and plum flavours, infused with spicy oak. The palate is very fine-featured and fine-textured, with good acid drive, the alcohol a little noticeable also. The acidity carries the flavours to a good, long and lingering finish. This is an elegant style, quite spice prevalent, with the potential to develop over the next 4-5+ years. 10/5 clone from the ‘Johnson Estate F Block’, fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 18 months in 28% new oak. 18.5/20 Aug 2013 RRP $55.00
