Spy Valley ‘Easy Tiger’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Oct-2015
The low alcohol label of Spy Valley. Fruit from three Wairau Valley sites, including the ‘Johnson Estate’, fermented in tank and barrel to 9.5% alc. and 4.9 g/L RS, TA 7.6 g/L and pH 3.29. Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight lemon hues. This has a full, up-front and open nose with fresh, steely passionfruit aromas unfolding pungency, with herbal and grassy elements. Dry to taste, and light-medium bodied, the fruit flavours of pungent passionfruit are expressed with a degree of restraint. The fruit is sweet and gentle luscious, revealing savoury herbal elements. Very fine, grainy phenolics emerge to form the palate line, with mouthwatering acidity carrying the wine to a soft, light, dry, chalky finish with light passionfruit flavours. This is a full, up-front, soft passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with light, lusciousness and a soft, dry finish. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 18 months to 2 years. 17.0/20 Oct 2015 RRP $19.95
