Sprig Marlborough Pinot Noir 2009

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Feb-2011
Fruit from the Bouldevines vineyard on Dog Point Road, all destemmed and given a 72 hour cold soak, fermented at over 30°C to 14.0% alc., aged in oak for 10 months. Bright, light ruby-red in colour with some purple hues, the nose is fresh with cool red berry fruits, a touch on the herby side, with confectionary elements. On palate very juicy with sweet cherryish fruit, a touch coolish, but still very attractive. Alcohol warmth compensates, and the extraction is soft and supple. A good entry level effort. 16.5+/20 Nov 2010 RRP $19.95
