Spinyback Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 09-Oct-2014
Fruit from 5 estate vineyards on the Waimea Plains, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 4.4 g/L RS, 10% of the wine having extended lees contact. Brilliant, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on edge. The nose is fresh and deep with concentrated cooler spectrum aromas of cut grass entwined with gooseberries and green capsicums. Some riper lantana notes emerge with aeration. Dryish to taste, bright and lively cut grass and herb flavours are enlivened by soft, fresh acidity and guided by a fine, textural line. The palate is elegantly proportioned with a gentle core and the wine is dry and mouthwatering, leading to a long textured finish with passionfruit nuances. This is a soft-textured, dry, mouthwatering, grassy Sauvignon Blanc. Match with seafood and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. 17.5-/20 Oct 2014 RRP $15.00
