Spinyback Nelson Riesling 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 14-Oct-2013
Bright straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. The nose is fresh with intensely concentrated and penetrating aromas of lime fruit and yellow florals, unfolding to show exotic jasmine notes entwined with herb elements. Off-dry to taste, upfront flavours of lime fruit and savoury exotic florals show with good depth. This has a firm core to the palate. The fruit softens and broadens as phenolic textures build to provide a fulsome mouthfeel. Soft acidity adds to the round dryness on the palate which carries through to a long, lingering finish with lime and green apple notes. This is an up-front off-dry Riesling with exotic aromas and a soft, rounded and textured mouthfeel. Serve with Asian fare over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from the ‘Annabrook’ vineyard cool-fermented in tank to 11.5% alc. and 10 g/L RS. 17.0+/20 Oct 2013 RRP $17.99
