Spinyback Nelson Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 01-Nov-2015
Full, even straw-yellow colour with slight golden hues and a suggestion of blush. The nose is light and tightly bound with fresh aromas of white and yellow stonefruits entwined with floral and lime elements and chalky, mineral notes. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the flavours of white stonefruits and minerals are light in expression and tightly held. The palate reveals citrus and honeysuckle nuances and the wine follows a soft, unctuously-textured core and line, guided by a subtle phenolic thread. The acidity is soft and integrated, and the wine leads to a dry, light finish with stonefruit flavours. This is a light, balanced, off-dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit and minerally flavours and subtly unctuous textures. Serve with creamy sauced seafood and poultry dishes over the next 2+ years. Estate fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 6 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 17.0/20 Nov 2015 RRP $15.00
