Spinyback Nelson Gruner Veltliner 2013

Gruner Veltliner from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 14-Oct-2013
Bright, even, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. The nose is light with piquant stonefruit and herb aromas, lifted with delicate florals, revealing nuances of nuts, earth and minerals. Dry to taste and light-bodied, very light fruit flavours of stonefruits and herbs feature on the palate. This is straightforward and carried by light textures and phenolics forming a vinous core. The flavours fade and the palate leads to a light, dry finish. This is a simple, clean, dry Gruner Veltliner with light stonefruit and herb flavours. Serve with seafood and poultry over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Annabrook’ vineyard and from vines next to the Waimea Estates winery, fermented to 12.5% alc. and 4.2 g/L RS, one portion given extended lees contact. 16.0+/20 Oct 2013 RRP $20.00
