Spinyback Nelson Chardonnay 2012

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 06-May-2013
Stainless-steel fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 12 months in French oak, undergoing batonnage. Bright straw-yellow colour with pale golden hues. This has a firmly packed nose of white peaches and citrus fruit along with flinty, mineral notes and subtle nutty oak all entwined. Medium-full bodied, the palate is soft and broad, quite openly accessible with fruit flavours of stonefruits and flint, and MLF-like butter, cream and nutty elements. The acidity is a little low, and the mouthfeel mellow, enhancing the solidness, weight and depth. The flavours lead to a dry, textural line and a moderately long, nutty, flinty finish. This is a fulsome, soft and broad Chardonnay that builds in texture on the palate. Match with rich poultry and pork dishes over the next 3+ years. 17.5-/20 May 2013 RRP $17.00
