Spinning Top Marlborough Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Oct-2015
Moderately deep, dark ruby-red colour, lighter on edge. The nose is elegantly presented with firmly packed aromas of dark raspberry fruit entwined with herb and mineral nuances, unfolding dark red cherry, spice, liquorice and balsamic nuances with aeration. Medium-bodied, the palate has elegantly concentrated flavours of dark raspberries, dried herbs and liquorice, along with hints of minerals. Soft, grainy tannins and positive extraction provide linearity, and fresh acidity lends drive. The wine carries to a firm and dry finish with light red liquorice notes. This is an elegantly concentrated Pinot Noir with dark raspberry flavours and grainy tannin extraction. Serve with roast duck and pork dishes over the next 4+ years. Fruit from the Awatere and Wairau, fermented to 13.2% alc., the wine spending 5-10 days on skins post ferment and aged 9 months in barrel. 16.5+/20 Oct 2015 RRP $18.99
