Spade Oak Voysey Pinot Gris 2019, Gisborne

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 01-Sep-2020
Bright, light straw-yellow with a gold hue, even throughout. The bouquet is lively, aromas of lemon, tree fruit, entwined with honeysuckle and a touch of spice. Medium-light bodied, pure flavoured palate with clarity, lemon, pear and apple, lingers with ginger and honeysuckle. The mouthfeel is oily-smooth, flows along nicely with refreshing acidity and prickly young ginger spice; balanced with some residual sugar sweetness, lingers to an off-dryish finish. This is an easy-approach Pinot Noir with the purity of fruit, balanced sugar and acid on an oily texture line. Match with fragrant Vietnamese and Thai fare over the next 2-3 years. 13.3% alc, 9 g/l RS. 18/20 pts Aug 2020 RRP $20
