Spade Oak ‘Voysey’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Dec-2016
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is very fresh with tightly bound and concentrated, intensely penetrating aromas of pungent passionfruit with piquant fresh herbs and white florals, all integrated, unfolding nuances of chalky minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is crisp and racy with a tight core of passionfruit flavours entwined with white florals and chalky minerals. The mouthfeel is brisk and thirst-quenching from the zesty acidity and the wine flows along a light-textured phenolic line that carries to a dry finish of passionfruit, fresh herbs and cut grass. This is a crisp, racy, mouthwatering Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit, white floral and mineral flavours on a light-textured, dry palate. A blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc from the ‘Bank House’ (ex Ara) vineyard and 10% Albarino, fermented in stainless-steel to 12.6% alc. and 3 g/L RS, the wine aged 5 months on light lees. 17.5-/20 Dec 2016 RRP $19.95 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
