Spade Oak ‘Voysey’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Feb-2015
Bright, light, straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. This has a fresh, tightly bound, aromatic nose with white florals, cut grass, nettles and lantana, lifted by exotic florals and tropical fruit elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is slender in proportion with aromatic grass, herb and floral fruit flavours. The mouthfeel is smooth with slippery acidity providing drive along a fine-featured, textural line. The acidity is crisp and mouthwatering, and carries the wine to an elegant, slim, dry finish. This is a crisp, thirst-quenching Sauvignon Blanc with cut grass and aromatic, exotic fruit flavours. Match with Asian and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit primarily from the Waihopi and Wairau Valleys, blended with 9% Gisborne Viognier, the wine fermented partially by indigenous yeasts to 13.2% alc and 5.0 g/L RS with TA 7.5 g/L. 17.0/20 Feb 2015 RRP $19.95 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
