Spade Oak ‘Voysey’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 31-Mar-2014
Marlborough fruit cool-fermented to 13.3% alc. and 4.9 g/L RS, with a very small percentage of the wine seeing oak, undergoing MLF and contact with lees. Bright pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues on edge. The nose is very fresh with tightly packed and elegantly expressed aromas of passionfruit with a steely cut and mouthwatering freshness. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a concentrated core of passionfruit flavours underlined by very fine, dry textures. The acidity is racy and slippery, balancing the textures, providing a sense of lusciousness. The flavours are tight and stylish, remaining clean, clear and focussed, and possess a positive linear drive carrying the flavours to a very long, soft finish with tropical fruit notes. This is a well-concentrated and focussed, passionfruity, dry Sauvignon Blanc, with a fresh and slippery mouthfeel. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables, and creamy sauce white meat dishes over the next 2 years. 17.5+/20 Apr 2014 RRP $19.95 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade', the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews' operates
