Spade Oak ‘Voysey’ Gisborne Pinot Gris 2017

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 08-Jul-2018
Bright, very pale straw yellow colour, lighter on the rim. This has a very fresh and elegant nose of soft and delicate, but positive aromas of white and yellow stonefruits, showing a fine and concentrated core of honeysuckle and nuances of exotic florals. This has clarity and purity. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has restrained flavours of white and yellow stonefruits lifted by exotic floral notes and enriched by oft honeysuckle notes. The flavours grow in volume to gently fill the palate lending a suggestion of unctuousness. The wine flows smoothly along a very fine line, leading to a subtly nuanced, lingering finish. This is a stylishly restrained off-dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit, floral and honeysuckle flavours on a smooth-flowing palate. Serve with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine over the next 3 years. Fruit from the ‘Ashwood’ vineyard, 65% M2, 21% 2/15 and 14% 457 clone fruit, tank-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 10.0 g/L RS, the wine aged 5 months on lees. 17.5+/20 Oct 2017 RRP $19.95 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
