Spade Oak ‘Voysey’ Gisborne Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 20-Oct-2015
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, light on the rim. The nose is full and gently voluminous with moderately deep aromas of white stonefruits, pears and subtle musk, honeysuckle, florals and fermentation esters detail. Medium-dry to taste and medium-bodied, fresh, up-front flavours of pears, stonefruits and honeysuckle show with a gentle richness. The mouthfeel is balanced and refreshing with lacy acidity, and the wine follows a fine-textured line. As the wine flows, the honied sweetness recedes and the palate carries to a light, mouthwatering, lingering finish with floral nuances. This is a fresh, up-front, medium-dry Pinot Gris with soft pear and stonefruit flavours and a crisp, light finish. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian cuisine over the next 2+ years. 60% clone M2 and 40% clone 457, from the ‘Ashwood’ vineyards, fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and 12.5 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 months on light lees. 16.5+/20 Oct 2015 RRP $19.95 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
