Bright light golden yellow colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is fine and full with bright aromas of ripe, rounded tropical fruit along notes of savoury tropical fruits melded with creamy buttery barrel fermentation. This is fulsome and rich unfolding layers of nutty florals. Dry to taste and medium- full bodied has packed and deep flavours of sweet ripe yellow stone fruits and tropical fruits. The flavours are mouthfilling and form a rich core of ripe stonefruit with notes of yellow stonefruits. Nutty notes show and the wine carries a light-phenolic textured line with soft acidity and some underling alcohol drive leading to a long finish. This is a full and rich yellow-stonefruited chardonnay with up front flavours of creamy-barrel fermented and nutty elements with some texture and freshness. Match with roast red meats over the next 3-4 years. 96% Chardonnay, 64% clone 95 from the Indevin Patutahi ‘Stuart’ Block, and 32% clone 548 from the Indevin ‘Ormond’ vineyard, with 4% Viognier from the ‘Spade Oak’ vineyard, the Viognier indigenous yeast barrel-fermented, to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 7 months with oak contact, 20% new equivalence, 6 months on lees and 50% undergoing MLF. 18.5/20 Feb 2019 RRP $19.95 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
