Spade Oak Voysey Chardonnay 2019, Gisborne

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Gisborne
Review Date : 11-Feb-2021
Bright, light yellow with some depth, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full and fragrant, nuances of stonefruit, citrus, nutty oak adorn by creamy MLF. Medium-full bodied ripe aromas of peach and nectarine intermix lemon curd, the subtle nutty oak element of almond croissant and creamy whipped butter added to the mix. The palate is rounded and buttery, freshened by lemony acidity; ripe fruit added volume on the palate, in harmony with the nutty oak elements, leaves a lingering, satisfying finish. Match with butter chicken and fish pie over the next 3-4 years. Fermented on oak with a portion of French oak barrels, 13% alc. 18/20 pts (90 pts) Feb 2021 RRP $18.50
