Spade Oak ‘Heart of Gold’ Gisborne Albarino 2014

Other White from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 20-Jul-2016
Brilliant straw-yellow with lemon-gold hues. The nose is softly fresh and well-packed with a complex amalgam of white stonefruits, white florals, fresh and pungent herbs, and nutty, mineral elements that build in depth. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a complex core of white stonefruits, florals and pungent herbs, infused with flint and mineral interest. The mouthfeel is fresh and crisp with fine and soft phenolic textures underlining the fruit. This has a fine, concentrated, rounded heart balanced by mouthwatering, lacy acidity to leads to a herb-nuanced, minerally finish. This s a complex Albarino with stonefruit and pungent herb flavours and a fresh, fine-textured mouthfeel. Serve with herb-marinated seafood over the next 3+ years. 100% Albarino from the ‘Spade Oak’ vineyard, hand-picked and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 6.7 g/L RS, TA 7.6 g/L and pH 3.35. 125 dozen made. 16.5+/20 Jul 2016 RRP $24.95 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
