Southdown Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 20-Oct-2014
Bright, pale straw-yellow, near colourless on rim. The nose is softly presented with even aromas of yellow capsicums, stonefruits and herbs, revealing straightforward gooseberry notes in the glass. Dry to taste and light-bodied, gently sweet fruit flavours of gooseberries and capsicums show with cut grass elements. The mouthfeel grows in texture with a dry, chalkiness featuring on the palate. The wine flows with good acid freshness, carrying through to a light, stonefruit-nuanced, dry, finish. This is a light-fruited Sauvignon Blanc with a dry, chalky mouthfeel. Serve as an aperitif, with salads and vegetables and Mediterranean fare over the next 18 months to 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Southdown Estate’, cool-fermented to 12.3% alc. and 3.78 g/L RS. 16.0+/20 Oct 2014 RRP $20.00
