Southbank Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Feb-2013
Bright pale straw-yellow colour with some green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is fine and intense with bright and concentrated aromas of gooseberry fruit with youthful flint and minerally notes. Dry to taste, soft and gently luscious flavours of gooseberries unfold to reveal juicy nuances of passionfruit and tropical fruit. The mouthfeel is soft from discreet acidity and the flavours flow with good energy, enhanced by a light minerally line that leads to a subtle, but sustained finish. This is a gently luscious and juicy Sauvignon Blanc. Serve with Asian cuisine, salads and vegetables over the next 18 months to 2 years. Fruit from the Awatere and Wairau valleys cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 3.5 g/L rs. 15.5+/20 Feb 2013 RRP $19.95
