Soter ‘Mineral Springs Ranch’ Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from USA
Review Date : 02-Aug-2013
Moderately deep ruby-red colour with slight purple hues. This has a soft, filling bouquet of dark raspberry fruits entwined with dark herbs, spices, savoury stalk and chalky minerals. Whole bunch characters emerge. Medium-full bodied, this is fulsome in flavour with subtly rich dark red berry fruits, savoury, stalky, dried herbs, earth and mineral. The mouthfeel is rounded, the acidity quite restrained, and the tannin textures gently broad, but with a core of power. The palate has breadth and is mouthfilling, and flows evenly to a soft, rich, easy finish with density providing the drive. This is a brooding, fulsome wine that is accessible and friendly. 5-6 years. Fruit from the ‘Mineral Springs Ranch’, Yamhill-Carton AVA, fermented with 30% whole bunch to 13.4% alc., the wine aged 14 months in 50% new French oak. 2,400 cases made. 18.0+/20 Jul 2013 RRP USD $45.00
