Soljans Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2020, Marlborough

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Sep-2020
Bright, watery pale yellow, even colour throughout. The nose is soft and fresh, sweet-scented aromas of ripe green apples and mangoes, melded with elderflower nuances and a grassy undertone. Light-bodied, dryish to taste, flavours of mangoes, green apples, gooseberries are fresh, along with lemonade and elderflower nuances flows to a clean, refreshing finish. The wine is smooth-flowing with a light phenolic grip, underlying lacy acidity. Upfront fruit flavours are uncomplicated and pleasant. Fresh acidity provides drive and balance to the residual sweetness. This is an upfront, smooth-flowing Sauvignon Blanc with tropical fruit flavours of mangoes, green apple and elderflower nuances. Match with Thai fish cakes and deep-fried Mozerella over the next 2 years. 17/20 pts Sept 2020 RRP $20
