Soljans Estate Pinot Gris 2020, Kumeu

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Northland & Auckland
Review Date : 11-Nov-2020
Bright, light straw-yellow with some depth, even colour throughout. The nose is soft with broad aromas of poached pear, yellow stonefruit, melded with lily fragrances and subtle ginger spice. Dry on the palate, medium-bodied, fresh aromas of Nashi pear, nectarines have a pure core, interweaved with light honey, lily and ginger. The fruit is ripe and aromatic with a sense of crispness, lifted by ginger and subtle spices. A slightly oily, rounded palate accompanied by balanced, lively acidity provides freshness, flows along a light fine-textured phenolic line with elegancy. This is an elegant Pinot Gris with flavours of Nashi pear and nectarine structured with honey, florals and ginger spice on a fine-textured line. Match with spicy pork meatballs and dim sum over the next 2-3 years. 18-/20 pts (90 pts) Nov 2020 RRP $20
