Soljans Estate Fusion Sparkling Moscato NV, NZ

Sparkling Wine from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 14-Sep-2020
Bright, even, light straw-yellow with a slight green hue, the bubbles moderately fine and persistent. The nose is soft and fine-concentrated with nuances of white and yellow blossoms, along a fresh green apple, grapey fruit direction, underlying subtle new herb cuttings. The bouquet is fresh and youthful with the purity of fruit. Light-bodied, sweet to taste, the feathery light palate has well-packed fresh aromas of green apple, grapes, enlivened by new herb cuttings and white floral background. The palate has a frothy, creamy mousse entry. Upfront flavours of grapes and green apples are refreshing on a purity line. A slender phenolic texture line carries the wine with a smooth flow, supported by lacy acidity, lending a refreshing, persistent finish. This is a deliciously elegant sparkling Muscat with straight forward flavours of sweet-scented fruit, exotic blossom notes on a delicate, refreshing palate. Match with fresh-baked pretzels cheese and mustard sauce over the next 2 years. 8.5% alc, 68 g/l RS. LO240. 18/20 pts Sept 2020 RRP $17
